Wide scale demonstration of Integrated Solutions and business models for European smartGRID

Scaling-up and replication roadmap (simulation tools)

This report will include the results of the simulations. The simulation scenarios will include larger size of the systems, different boundary conditions reflecting the situation in other EU countries. Finally, the scenarios will include a replication roadmap considering the experience gained in the demonstration sites. Related task(s): T18.1, T18,2

WiseGRID Replication, Market Uptake and Deployment Handbook

This handbook will describe the possible ESIF support activities in order to bring the results closer to commercialisation. The Handbook will also describe Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions (PPI) models to facilitate the market adoption of the new products by public sector or public-private consortiums, including all the technical, legal and financial information needed to design the procurement of these new products and systems. Related task(s): T18.13

WiseGRID architecture, data models, standards and data protection (V2)

Description of the Open, secure and flexible customer-centric architecture description. Description of the security and privacy features to be provide to WiseGRID architecture and solutions. Identification of relevant standards for the project development. Related task(s): T3.1, T3.2, T133

WiseEVP Design

Report of the design the software modules of WiseEV platform for electric car-sharing and fleet managers. This report will include all the specifications and functionalities to be included in the Wise EVP.D15. WiseEV platform implementation and lab-testing. Related task(s): T9.1

WiseGRID architecture, data models, standards and data protection (V1)

Description of the Open, secure and flexible customer-centric architecture description. Description of the security and privacy features to be provide to WiseGRID architecture and solutions. Identification of relevant standards for the project development. The report will be updated on month 18. Related task(s): T3.1, T3.2, T133

Storage as a service and Innovative optimized solutions

Report of the description of WiseGRID Storage as a service, it will promote the distributed renewable energy together with the different possible uses of electrical energy storage in order to increase the revenues and benefits of installing this kind of systems. Competing or even substituting the need for conventional power system due to the scalable investments and the high costs associated with erecting new power plants and distribution of energy. Moreover, the report will include the definition of the Innovative and advanced optimized storage solutions that will allow the integration of storage in the Smart Grid considering aspects such as the adaptability, use and flexibility. Related task(s): T6.2, T6.3

WiseGRID requirements, Use cases and pilot sites analysis

Requirements needed for reaching the WiseGRID project objectives. Definition of the Use-cases and scenarios associated to the integration of the smart grid technologies and solutions. Analysis and definition of the preliminary WiseGRID requirements and use cases to be demonstrated at each demo site. Related task(s): T2.1, T2.2, T2.3

Analysis of Grid Management Technologies for the distribution grid

Identification and specification of DSO additional operations that should consider storage and controllability of various component through new technologies based on real time data from USM. Related task(s): T12.1.

WiseGRID Contribution to standardization (V2)

This set of reports will include the activities performed in relation with standardization organizations and committees, together with any proposal submitted. Feedback received and conclusions obtained for potential future activities will be included. Related task(s): T21.3

WiseGRID cloud-based big data infrastructure

Specifications of the WiseGRID Big Data Cloud-based infrastructure towards enabling: (i) Data Integration from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, (ii) Storage and Processing of huge data volumes in a highly efficient and effective manner, (iii) adaptation of Service-Oriented-Architectures (SOA) towards enhancing flexibility, scalability, re-usability, loose coupling, integration of a variety of functionalities, and (iv) Interoperability and Interconnection with a wide range of applications. Configuration and integration of the WiseGRID Big Data infrastructure with the WG IOP and the individual WiseGRID components. Related task(s): T5.1, T5.2, T1.3

RESCO services and Advanced models for Smartening the Distribution Grid

Description of detailed services enabling the possibility to receive electricity without having to invest in renewable energy equipment. Identying of functionalities and defining the methodologies to improve the grid and support grid operators to better manage and control the network, in an increasing share of distributed renewables and other energy resources. Related task(s): T12.2, T12.3

WiseHome App Design

Report on the design of modules of WiseHOME App, focusing on specifications on features, functionalities, interconnection with the big data infrastructure and user interfaces. Related task(s): T11.1

WiseGRID interoperable Integrated Process (WG IOP)

Interoperable technologies based on web services and high performance middleware specifications that will operate as the glue that collects data from the different energy infrastructure and distributed resources in the network and transfers them efficiently and securely. Related task(s): T4.3

Identification and recommendation for technical and interoperability barriers

The report will identify the technical barriers in the demonstration site focusing on the technical constraints of the various systems, the lack of standards especially regarding interoperability issues and possible functionalities that future systems should include. Related task(s): T17.2

Workshops and dissemination and synergies activities Report (V1)

A report will be generated after each of the planned workshops, dissemination and synergies activities containing the minutes, report , photo or video overview of the meeting, presentation used, participants list or number of people present, and feedback from- if appropriate-: the advisory board, the user group, people present. This report will be updated on Month 30 and Month 42. Related task(s): T20.1, T20.2, T20.3, T20.4, T20.5

DR Technologies Outlook and Flexibility Sources Clustering and Classification

Analyse the existing DR technologies and Flexibility Sources. Best practices will be identified and focused on the role of the different actors of the energy market and distribution. Furthermore analysis of the additional flexibility that could be provided by other energy carriers such as power to gas or power to heat. Related task(s): T10.1

Dissemination Master Plan

It will provide systematic information on raising awareness about the project's activities, goals and results. It will describe the target audiences, key messages, outreach activities and communication channels (website, FB, Twitter, newsletter, YouTube Channel, …). Related task(s): T20.1, T20.2, T20.3, T20.4, T20.5

Impact assessment and Cost benefit analysis planning

Report of the framework employed for evaluating the technical, social, economic and regulatory impact of WiseGRID product portfolio in each of the four demonstration sites. A global repository of at least 30 standardised KPIs will be defined and used in accordance with the “Guidelines for conducting cost-benefit analysis of Smart Grid projects” for quantifying, in a systematic way, the project’s impact on the entire value chain and on society at large. Related task(s): T16.1

WiseCOOP and WiseCORP Apps implementation and lab-testing

Report of the details of the implementation of the WiseCOOP and WiseCORP Apps and of the validation of the developed software to verify that the software meets the functional requirements and technical requirement. Both Apps will include a user-friendly interface and intuitive. Related task(s): T7.2, T7.3

WiseGRID Cockpit Design

Design of the cockpit used by the DSO by means of a user-friendly interface. The functionalities will be both real-time and forecasting-based and will allow for the provision of a wide range of services, as identified in WP6.1, including network balancing, quality of supply, voltage/ frequency regulation, security of supply, network automation, network congestion management, forecasting and simulation, assets management, incident detection, maintenance management, strategic planning management, etc. Related task(s): T13.1

Identification and recommendation for non-technical barriers and innovative business models

Report on the attractiveness of the business models, as defined in WP1, to the respective roles in each of the four large pilot sites by computing a set of financial indicators (such as Internal Rate of Return, Return on Investment period, etc). Furthermore, critical socio-economic barriers that could delay realization of these business models, or harm their profitability, will be identified and suitable countermeasures will be suggested where necessary, by taking into account the local conditions in each demonstration area. Related task(s): T17.1, T17.3

Analysis of Storage Technologies for the distribution grid

Report dealing with types, characteristics, applications and main constraints of storage technologies in the distribution grid. The document focuses on electrochemical battery storage systems however, thermal storage as well as other storage types like Supercapacitors and Flywheels will be thoroughly analyzed as well. The results described in this report are intended to support the integration and management of storage technologies within WiseGRID, also considering future extensions. Related task(s): T6.1

Analysis of the Demo sites technical data and integration and demonstration planning

Analysis of the technical data from the four project demonstration sites and enumerate of all existing systems and components involved in the demonstration. A planning and timeline of the integration and deployment activities will be provided and the list of software and hardware modules that will be deployed will be analysed in detail during this task. Related task(s): T14.1, T15.1

Legislation, business models and social aspects

The deliverable will include: 1) A report that will analyze the existing legislation and regulatory frameworks implemented in the energy markets at various levels (i.e., local, national, supranational and international); 2) Analysis of the emerging and innovative smart grid business models and the energy-market model. The analysis will identify current barriers and propose solutions; 3) Presentation of our research findings on smart grids and the energy market in the social, cultural and ethical context, such as energy security, data privacy and equity reports. Related task(s): T1.1, T1.2, T1.3

WiseGRID Contribution to standardization (V1)

This set of reports will include the activities performed in relation with standardization organizations and committees, together with any proposal submitted. Feedback received and conclusions obtained for potential future activities will be included. The initial deliverable will ve updated on Month 42. Related task(s): T21.3

Analysis of the electric Transportation sector

To analyse the technical characteristics of existing electric Transportation sector technologies covering issues regarding both EVs and Ports/Ships. Related task(s): T8.1

WiseGRID Flexibility-based DR Optimization Framework Specifications

Configuring dynamic visual and thermal comfort models and associating them with energy consumption and load usage metrics towards the definition of context-aware demand flexibility/ elasticity profiles, as the basis for the definition of optimized flexibility-based Demand Response strategies. Related task(s): T10.2, T10.3

WiseCOOP and WiseCORP Apps Design

Report of the design of the software modules of the WiseCOOP and WiseCORP Apps for consumer intermediates to help consumers and prosumers achieve better energy deals while relieving them from administrative procedures and cumbersome research. This includes the aggregation of WiseGRID modules such as Storage as a Service and VPP where the energy aggregator (or other intermediate) gathers a portfolio of smaller generators. Related task(s): T7.1

WiseGRID FastV2G and other innovative optimized storage solutions

This deliverable will describe the technical specifications and functionalities of the WiseGRID V2G Fast EV charging station in order to integrate correctly EV in the network. Additionally this Deliverable will describe the specifications and algorithms to integrate different storage technologies into the grid. Related task(s): T8.2, T8.3

Socio-economic and technical Impact assessment of WiseGRID integrated solution

Report of the impact assessment results obtained by following the overall evaluation framework, as defined in T16.1. The validity of these results will be demonstrated by analyzing end-user questionnaires and using statistical methods, such as Monte Carlo analysis for understanding the impact of critical variables such as future electricity demand increase rate. Related task(s): T16.2

WiseGRID integrated ecosystem Lab testing

Report on the results of the lab testing of the various components. The goal of this report is to list possible issues that should be addressed before the deployment of the systems in the real demonstration sites. Related task(s): T14.2

WiseHome App implementation and lab-testing

Report on the development of the WiseHOME App, including relevant technical and communication information, along with the results of alpha-tests conducted in a lab environment. Related task(s): T11.2, T11.3

WiseGRID Big Data Cloud-based infrastructure Testing and Refinement

Validation of the Big Data platform and prepare for real-life deployment and operation in synergy with the assets involved in the different pilot sites of WiseGRID. Related task(s): T5.3

WiseGRID integrated ecosystem intermediate deployment and demonstration

This is an intermediate report analysing the status of the final deployment and the data collected so far. The goal of this report it to provide an early warning for possible problems in the demonstration activities. Related task(s): T14.4, T15.3.

WiseGRID integrated ecosystem final deployment and demonstration

Report on the final deployment activities in the demonstration sites, as well the demonstration activities and the collected data. This report and the associated data will be the basis for evaluation of the WiseGrid results. Related task(s): T14.4, T15.3, T15.4

WiseGRID Cockpit implementation and lab-testing

Implementation and lab testing and refinement of the WiseGRID Cockpit to verify that the software meets the functional requirements and technical requirement in order to generate the final version to be deployed and demonstrated in real conditions in the project pilot sites. Related task(s): T13.2, T13.3

WiseGRID integrated ecosystem preliminary deployment and demonstration

Report of the preliminary and first deployment of equipment and systems in the demonstration sites focusing on the problematic situations that should be tackled before the final deployment. Furthermore , the report will include the results of the preliminary demonstration focusing on the list of critical tests defined in D24. Related task(s): T14.3, T15.2

WiseEV platform implementation and lab-testing

After designing all the modules and specifications of the Wise EVP, this report will describe the implementation of WiseEV platform and how this platform will work concerning the optimization of all the activities related with smart charging and discharging of the electric vehicles in order to reduce the energy billing. Additionally the report will collect the results of the tests carried out to validate and verify that the software meets the functional and technical requirements. Related task(s): T9.2, T9.3
