Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

The problem which our BioPellets address is the relatively low performance of solid biomass fuels, relative to their position in the EU energy mix. We achieve this by combining food service industry waste with raw wood biomass to form a composite wood pellet fuel, possessing up to 30% greater energy density. The pellet is still carbon-neutral and still suitable for production qith standard equipment, minimising the burden for our customers/clients, Europe's major wood pellet manufacturers.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

"We carried out a thorough assessment of our value chain, identifying key stakeholders and establishing a business model to support their integration of our product, into their product ranges. We also established a product development plan centred around a ""live"" test of our business model, from licence to end-user. We also performed a five year financial forecast and developed a comprehensive idea of our business model at full-scale operations. We analysed our competitors and potential customers, and our product's position relative to other renewable resources."

Up to a 50% reduction in raw materials cost to the manufacturer, and a 25-30% increase in energy density to our end user.
