Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

The overall objective of the H2020 Armenia Project was to fill in the gaps of the knowledge, skills and ability to manage innovation processes among Armenian innovative SMEs by increasing their innovation management capacity and providing them more space for growth and internationalization through innovation support services: Services designed to Enhance the Innovation Management Capacities of SMEs (EIMC) and Key Account Management (KAM) services aiming at full exploitation of the innovation potential of the H2020 SME Instrument beneficiaries.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

During the two-year activities 18 clients have been served the above mentioned services: 17 EIMC and 1 KAM.
Along with these services the clients has received important assistance in preparation of H2020 proposals , consulting and brokerage services, as a result, their vision, methods and resources for turning an idea to innovation result and its commercialization has notably changed. There has been significant improvement in their leadership and management skills, ability to cooperate with R&D partners, clients, and suppliers and to communicate innovation.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

Both KAM and EIMC services are relatively new services in Armenia, and their content, scope and approach, based on a common European background and dimension, are nonreplicable at least on medium term, due to the lack of request that does not stimulate public or private service providers to develop such complex services, on one hand, and to the lack of specialization on the other. Thus, many innovation-related organizations, including R&D ones, benefited from innovation services, involving European tools, methods and resources having the potential of models and good practice.
