Reporting period: 2017-11-01 to 2019-10-31

The project living labs phenomenon. It explored the living labs phenomenon which is highly relevant for the society as it gives opportunities to improve the paper. It explored the sustainability and responsible innovation of living labs. It explored how urban areas. There are four objectives of the project from four work packages. The aim of the WP1 is to review the extant literature on the project topic. Based on reviewing the extant literature, a review paper has been published in a reputed journal. The second WP aims of this WP is to explore open innovation 2.0 to understand their operating process and focus. Using interview data, this study explored the operating process and focus of livings in a comprehensive manner. The WP3 aims of this WP is to investigate how open innovation 2.0 is integrating responsible innovation. Using interview data, this study explores living labs responsible innovation. The aim of this WP4 is to explore how open innovation 2.0 is contributing to sustainability. Using a range of sustainability parameters, we explored sustainability aspects of the sustainability of living labs. A research paper is almost ready to submit to a journal.
According to this work package, a systematic literature review paper has been published in a high quality journal: Hossain, M. (2018), “Frugal innovation: A review and research agenda” Journal of Cleaner Production, 182, 926–936. Necessary interviews with users, managers, funders, and policy makers have been conducted. As per the proposal plan, the fellow participated a conference dedicated to the project topic. A paper based the data collected under this Workpackage submitted to journal with rejection status. The Fellow is working on the paper to submit again to another journal. This work package finding is significant to get an overall picture regarding operation and focus of various open innovation 2.0 platforms. In-depth exploration of 5 living labs cases have been explored from the responsible innovation perspective. A paper is written based on the data collection and it is ready to submit to a target journal. This work package finding is significant to understand the integration of responsible innovation in open innovation 2.0. Due to some practical reasons, the data collection of this work package was modified. Online survey was not conducted based on the opinions of some experts who felt that online survey data might not result in valuable insights.
