Special Action in Microelectronics for Italy: Microelectronics Promotion in Italy; MEPI

SMARTKEY-PLUS+ is a hardware protection key mounted on the PC's parallel port, which digital code is recognized by the specific software driver mounted into a software application to protect. Software calls to the hardware component allow to protect the software. SMARTKEY-PLUS + uses an ASIC totally devolved to the function of protection.

Promotion of the Special Action Results (PROSAR)

The Special Action for Microelectronics in Italy aimed to encourage the take-up of advanced microelectronics technologies by Italian companies, especially SMEs. The opportunities offered by microelectronics technologies were promoted to inexperienced users through seminars, training courses and workshops. Around 30 ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) demonstrators were fabricated for SMEs. The competence of existing national support was also reinforced.
