The Concerted Action has delivered on convening ten Plenary Meetings, two In-depth Workshops, two webinars, four Study Visits, and thirty six Working Groups on specific EED elements preselected by National Contact Points and the Management Team. In addition all information was made available via the CA EED website.
The areas covered during the period included: energy efficiency targets, planning measures and reporting; energy management in and renovation of central governmental buildings; public procurement; energy poverty; energy efficiency in the rental sector; metering and billing; audits; QACs; legislative frameworks for Energy Performance contracting and other financial options, heating and cooling; Comprehensive Assessments; transformation, transmission and distribution of energy systems; remote reading of thermal energy; efficient heating and cooling; energy efficiency in the water sector and data centres, taxation; public procurement; and behavioural economics. A number of information sessions were held at each Plenary Meeting providing insight into developments in specific EED areas or related areas, these included sessions on: smart cities and smart consumers, financing, linking energy efficiency with renewables, the importance of the transport sector for energy efficiency targets, NECPs, taxonomy, energy efficiency financing, energy poverty, response to energy prices, achieving 2030 targets and Energy Efficiency First. These were supported by Horizon 2020 projects, external speakers and the Commission services.
During the extended course of the project the website benefitted from two upgrages, the first introducing a tagging system makeing it easier to access information and the second focussing on future proofing the website facilitating future updating and storage of ever increasing volumes of data.
The Concerted Action contributed to and worked together with the Energy Community, the Ukraine Task Force and the European Defence Agency. In 2020 the CA EED joined forces with the sister projects CA EPBD and CA RES to realise a Joint Workshop bringing all three communities together, and focussing on synergies across the three directives.
