Initial Data-LINK layer Model and Simulator

This model takes account of the preliminary outputs of the work on D5.1 to frame the task of developing the Link layer model. This model will be sufficiently flexible to support a sensitivity analysis of the main inputs and thus be extensible to support more complex behaviours. A secondary output, more a concern of WP7 than WP5, will be input to standards, where this deliverable will play a major part.

Initial PHY-Layer model and simulator

This model brings together the main features of the (physical) communications link models built in WP4 and adds communications outputs. That is, physical characteristics such as signal power and frequency stability become inputs to data rate and latency calculations. Simulation software will enable users to try different communication scenarios, particularly those that might be encountered in a data centre.

Design report of phase distribution PIC

This report will take into account the different elements necessary to connect a phase distribution PIC to a set of emitters. Particular care will be on the tuning mechanism to offer the desired beam steering capacity.

Dissemination Pack

This deliverable will detail the dissemination resources for TERAPOD partners. This will include the TERAPOD website, tools and guidelines to facilitate consortium partner’s external dissemination to the targeted outreach communities, templates for deliverables and a publishing process.

Report on the design and simulation of THz integrated antennas

This report will describe the different design choices for integrated substrate antenna and serve as input for fabrication of integrated designs.

Initial Standardisation Impact Strategy

A preliminary list of relevant standards will be identified. Consortium members participating to relevant standard bodies feed into TERAPOD technical WPs explaining the punctual standardization scope and roadmap. Based on WP feedback a definite list of the standardization groups to be targeted during the project timeframe will be created distinguishing between standards to be adopted as is, standards to be contributed to and potentially new standards. Requirements and use cases at WP level will be collected and provided as input to the standardization WGs and reported accordingly.

Initial NETWORK Layer Model and Simulator

This model will extend existing heterogeneous network management protocols to include THz communication. The model will include traffic flows with different temporal profiles, priorities and other labels. Queueing theory will be used to model the flows and estimate QoS parameters. The associated simulation will enable network administrators to make better resource allocation decisions.
