Different industrial sectors like mining, oil & gas and infrastructure industry need to control ground motion on the immediate and surrounding areas to guarantee safety of operations. Today those industries and their daily operations face an incomplete remote monitoring offer, and rely on expensive, punctual and risky in-situ sensors
MOTIONMAPPER is an innovative product that produces spatial and temporal surface deformation measurements for any type of ground deformation, at any geographical scale, anytime needed. Thanks to the integration of radar data acquired from different sensors, measurements can have a very high level of spatial detail and can be integrated to get a unified view of the ground deformation effects and to better understand their causes. This information is crucial to clients for guaranteeing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of their production and operational processes, in different sectors, such as: mining for safety of operations and saving lives, infrastructure for avoiding building collapses and damages; oil & gas for the optimization of production efficiency by understanding better reservoir dynamics.
The overall objective is to develop and patent a real time micro and macro scale topography movement disaster mitigation system by mean of the integration of different radar technological systems.
Working closely with existing and newly identified stakeholders (e.g. clients, distributors and partners) during the past six months (Feb 2017 – July 2017), we thoroughly investigated for the period 2018-2022 our primary target markets in Europe and internationally, validated the technological feasibility, scalability, and economic viability of MOTIONMAPPER.
We segmented our market into industrial sectors and confirmed our initial analysis that we can address a strong market demand of ground displacements radar monitoring services principally for the mining sector, followed by infrastructure and oil & gas. The total market of these three sectors is set to grow to 408 M Euros overall by 2022, of which more than 12M Euro will be the expected revenues for DARES. This will represent large growth for us, generating a large amount of employment and becoming the market leader.
We developed a marketing strategy to create maximum impact as we launch a new product category to the market, including a trademark and patent process.
We also updated our knowledge of current and planned development activities, identifying the technical risks to be handled and the funding resources needed to complete the product roadmap, amounting at 1,95 M€ in two years.
Dares, a company who’s team includes over 40 combined years in the InSAR sector, have listened to customer needs. We have developed an algorithm that delivers reliable InSAR results, whilst taking advantage of the latest free Copernicus data sets and supplementing the satellite based data with other sources when needed, transparently, in the cloud.
MOTIONMAPPER and the implemented business model will be the only solution on the market place that combines the power, flexibility and ease of use of hands-off/remote monitoring with the ability to overlay higher precision radar mapping produced from different source of data to enhance satellite scans. Therefore, we expect to have a winning Business model for the MOTIONMAPPER product & service from users’ needs to commercial strategy.
We will improve the safety in industrial working environments and in Disaster Risk Reduction. We will implement a scalable business model for becoming a top leading company in our sector by creating more than 40 high qualified job post in Europe in the next three years.
