Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Skylynx (Upgrading Railways from the Air) Período documentado: 2017-02-01 hasta 2017-07-31 Resumen del contexto y de los objetivos generales del proyecto SKYLYNX will be the first fully integrated solution for railway signalling, maintenance and surveillance increasing safety and reducing costs. It is an innovative tool for railway lifecycle management, composed by UAVs equipped with sensors, nesting platforms and back-end processing nodes that will offer services of railways assets and infrastructures. The system will enable and enhance the digitalisation of the railway transportation sector. Trabajo realizado desde el comienzo del proyecto hasta el final del período abarcado por el informe y los principales resultados hasta la fecha Skylynx is composed by two well differentiated modules from a technical point of view. On one hand, a hardware composed by UAVs equipped with sensors and nesting platforms. On the other hand, a dedicated software designed to manage all the information gathered by the hardware. During the feasibility study period we have been working in both developments but paying special attention to the software platform. Today, we are making additional efforts to get the image recognition tool running. It will enable end-users to get a full automation of current tasks.
