Converting DCs in Energy Flexibility Ecosystems (CATALYST)

Deliverables

Federated DCs Migration Controller

This deliverable will provide the initial algorithmic analysis, detailed design, implementation (SW package) and theoretical evaluation of the Energy aware IT Load Scheduler & Balancing Optimizer.

Energy aware IT Load Balancing

This deliverable will describe, implement (SW package) and evaluate the IT Load Balance Optimization layer for the federated DCs by handling and monitoring virtual containers.

VC Generation & Migration

This deliverable will provide the initial design and implementation (SW package) of the Virtual Container (VC) Generator, which will also embed a hash blockchains-based VC tag and the Federated DC Security Controller as an extension to the OpenStack framework.

DC Energy Flexibility Management Tool

This deliverable will provide the CATALYST energy flexibility management tool as an extension of the GEYSER Intra DC Energy Optimization engine.

D5.3 Cloudification of the CATALYST market framework

Based on the combined results of D5.1 and D5.2, this deliverable will offer the adaptation framework and API allowing for quick and easy reconfiguration and integration of the CATALYST market framework by the interested parties.

Intermediate CATALYST Framework

Though CATALYST will follow the continuous integration approach, this deliverable will provide an intermediate CATALYST framework version (SW package) as end-to-end proof of concept.

Optimal orchestration of CATALYST market mechanisms

This deliverable will provide the implementation of the orchestration layer of the various CATALYST market mechanisms, including the marketplace infrastructures and the various local DC agents governing the DC participation in these marketplaces.

Final CATALYST Framework

This deliverable will provide the final end-to-end CATALYST framework offered as SW open source.

Smart Energy Flexibility Modelling

This deliverable will provide the modelling and realization of the smart grid/RES/DES electricity as well as potential electricity and thermal (heating/cooling) flexible energy estimations and capabilities of each DC participating in the CATALYST project and nearby districts and perform a preliminary feasibility study of the CATALYST approach.

DC Energy DR Prediction

This deliverable will provide the CATALYST Electricity and Thermal DR prediction component (SW package) as an extension of the GEYSER electricity DR component leveraging on time series and deep neural networks.

CATALYST market infrastructure implementation

This deliverable will offer the implementation of CATALYST’s USEF-based energy and IT marketplaces.

Trial set-up, test & evaluation methodology

This deliverable will provide a description of the trial sites as feedback to CATALYST system designers, along with use case evaluation criteria, test procedures.

Green DC Energy Efficiency Roadmap V2

This deliverable will summarize the GDC-SG activities and provide a roadmap for DC EE.

Trial Assessment and Replication guidelines

This deliverable will provide the final assessment of CATALYST along with the replication guidelines in order to allow 3rd parties to integrate the CATALYST framework in non-consortium sites.

Green DC Energy Efficiency Roadmap V1

This deliverable will summarize the GDC-SG activities and provide a roadmap for DC EE.

Report on marketing & promotional tools V2

This deliverable will comprise a listing and a description of the created marketing material and tools.

Data management plan v2

This deliverable will provide a description of the data management procedures to be used at trial sites.

CATALYST Specification & Design

This deliverable will analyse the CATALYST use cases so as to capture the user requirements based on which the requirements for the CATALYST framework and subsystem in terms of functionality, interfaces (hardware and software) and information flow will be identified. It will also specify the CATALYST framework architecture and interfaces between IT and Energy components.

Data management plan V1

This deliverable will provide a description of the data management procedures to be used at trial sites.

Green DC Assessment Toolkit

This deliverable will provide the Green DC Assessment Toolkit, including test cases, metrics measuring processes and methodologies

Dissemination & Standardization Activities V1

This deliverable will summarize the annual Dissemination plans and SDO activities.

Final CATALYST Framework Architecture

This deliverable will provide the CATALYST framework final architecture, covering both the IT and the Energy layers. Emphasis will be put on the areas that could form contributions to standards. Moreover it will provide an updated/final version of the CATALYST Green DC Certification Process

Guidelines and Integration Framework

This deliverable will provide detailed guidelines describing the integration methodology. Moreover, it will provide the automated Continuous Integration Framework, providing the complete end-to-end chain from the source code repository up to the qualification infrastructure.

Report on marketing & promotional tools V1

This deliverable will comprise a listing and a description of the created marketing material and tools.

This deliverable will summarize the annual Dissemination plans and SDO activities.
