PAR ethnography case-studies reports

PAR ethnography casestudy reports reflecting young peoples crosscultural dialogue and heritageinthemaking will be completed in M 34 for each consortium country The deliverable will bring together ethnographic materials produced by consortium members and young peoples own representation of their cultural practices and participation in the form of video blogs social media postings and short video clips

Cluster analysis of case-studies on non-formal cultural participation and socialisation

Cluster analysis of casestudies on informal education and cultural participation in nonformal educational settings synthesis analysis M36 The casestudies presented in D41 will be clustered to reflect the educational practices identified in WP4 The crosscasestudy comparison will be undertaken as part of the clusteranalysis by cluster leads selected by researchers involved in WP4 casestudies and coordinated by WP4 leads

Cross-national synthesis analysis of practices and experiences of cultural literacy in formal education

Crossnational synthesis analysis of practices and experiences of cultural literacy in formal education will be delivered in collaboration with leads of WP3 in M37 D23 will be based on the countrybased analysis of cultural literacy and practices in formal education D22 and national reports on measuring cultural literacy and participation D31 produced in WP3 It will present the mixedmethod perspective on institutional practices of cultural literacy and students experiences of such education across consortium countries

Intra-national comparison of cultural participation and socialisation in (non-/in-)formal educational contexts

Crossnational comparison of cultural participation and socialisation in formal educational contexts will deliver crossnational comparative analysis of student and school survey dada in M38

Country-based reports: measuring cultural literacy and participation

Countrybased reports measuring cultural literacy and participation will be produced by each partner team by M31 These reports will present research findings on the individual patterns of young peoples cultural literacy participation and intercultural communication This deliverable will demonstrate the effects of different variables eg gender age geographical location socioeconomic position ethnonational background on the development and maintenance of such patterns

Mapping reports of cultural heritage

Mapping reports of locally formed cultural heritage and the degree of difference between the particular heritage sites will be delivered for each consortium country by M14. This deliverable will map the heritage ‘offer’ in each country, by exploring the existing discourses and institutional practices that constitute the representation and use of cultural heritage in each geographical location of the CHIEF consortium. The chief purpose of this deliverable is to provide background information for the selection of specific heritage spaces/sites (two in each country) for case-studies in the second phase of this WP.

National curriculum review reports

National Curriculum Review Reports will be produced for each consortium country in M8. This deliverable will draw on the content/textual analysis of school curricula covering issues of national history, cultural heritage, identity and citizenship

Cross-national analysis of cultural heritage in (in-)formal contexts

Crossnational analysis of production and renegotiation of meanings of cultural heritage among young people in informal contexts will be produced in collaboration with WP6 in M41 This deliverable will focus on young peoples experiences of interactions between mainstreamofficial heritage practices based on D61 produced in WP6 and their families cultural traditions and identities drawing on D51 in the different locations of the CHIEF research

Field analysis of cultural participation and socialisation

Field analysis of cultural participation and socialisation in innonformal educational contexts will deliver the mixedmethod national case study analysis in M40 in five CHIEF countries UK Slovakia Spain Croatia and Turkey This deliverable requires collaboration across several empirical research WPs including WP2 and WP3

Country based reports: cultural literacy practices in formal education

Country based reports of cultural literacy practices in formal education will be completed in M20 by each consortium partner except CC The report will present the empirical research findings from school settings including analysis of relevant text books

Cluster analysis of ethnography with young people

Cluster analysis of ethnography with young people will be delivered in M37 D72 will map and cluster together the forms of young peoples cultural participation drawing on ethnographic casestudies presented as D71 The aim of this deliverable is to produce a comparative analysis of factors and processes that affect how young people construct their identities negotiate meanings of culturally significant practices and engage in dialogue across perceived cultural boundaries

Cross-national comparison of educational policies and curricula

Cross-national comparison of educational policies and curricula will map key issues in relation to existing approaches to enhancing cultural literacy and inter-cultural communication among young people in formal educational settings. DCA1 will build on research findings presented in the national cultural/educational policy reviews (D1.2) and national curriculum review reports (D2.1, see below WP2 description) and will be jointly produced by the leads of WP1 and WP2 by M12.

Heritage sites case-study reports

Heritage sites casestudy reports summarising research findings of the qualitative investigation of young peoples experiences of engagement with the institutionalised andor alternative forms of heritage sites for each research team in M35

Country-based reports: Inter-generational dynamics in informal cultural socialisation

Countrybased reports Intergenerational dynamics in informal cultural socialisation will be delivered by each consortium partner except CC and CFE in M23 The deliverable will present research findings emphasising the role of intergenerational dynamics in enhancing intercultural dialogue within Europe and beyond

National cultural / educational policy review

D.1.2 – National cultural/educational policy reviews will be delivered for each consortium country in M7. D1.2 will present research findings on national educational policies and discourses that frame the cultural literacy, participation and socialisation of young people within formal educational institutions.

Cross-national policy recommendations/briefs

Crossnational policy recommendationsbriefs will be based on the national policy recommendations D83 tailored for international policy stakeholders EC European parliament international youth associations and culture and education charity organisations D84 will be delivered by WP8 leads in M39 It will be published in English and translated into the local languages of the consortium partners It will be disseminated through the project website and associated social media media briefs and conference presentations

Progress Report

Progress Report will be completed at the end of the projects second year Month 24 The Project Manager will collate and disseminate to the Commission stakeholders and general public via the project website and associated social media channels key findings achieved across different WPs

Casestudy reports informal education and cultural participation in nonformal educational settings will be produced by M20 by each consortium team except CC and CFE and coordinated by WP leads

National policy recommendations / briefs

National policy recommendationsbriefs will be developed by M37 in consultation with CAPP members by WP8 coordinators in each consortium team except CC and overseen by WP8 leads The policy recommendations will draw on research findings across all WPs in the Empirical Research Block and they will be addressed to target national policy stakeholders national parliaments youth and cultural policy think tanks cultural and educational institutions and practitioners local educational authorities cultural and educational trusts museum associations and civil society organisations migrant and minority associations and national councils The recommendations will be published in local languages and English and communicated to the targeted audiences through policy media briefs leaflets and via the projects website with associated promotion through the projects social media channels

Project film(s)

Project films A series of three 30minute long documentary films based on the ethnographic research with young people in WP7 will be produced during the final year of the project by a professional film maker affiliated with CU and assisted by the projects Visual Dissemination subgroup It is expected that films will have at least one public screening before the end of the project in Month 42 WP9 leads and the IDG will look for opportunities to broadcast the film on national television channels of the Consortium countries After the completion of the project the films will be uploaded to appropriate online visual platforms such as YouTube and promoted via the projects and partners social media channels

Project website will be created in Month 1 of the project The website will be updated at least on a monthly basis throughout the life of the project

Project's social media accounts and blog

Project’s social media accounts and blog will be created by Month 6. At least one blog and two social media posts will be published every month.

Common data file with relevant documentation

Common data file with relevant documentation will be made ready for deposit to UK Data Archive and Aston Data Explorer repositories in M39

Presentation of research findings at international conference(s)

Presentation of research findings at international conferences By Month 25 the Consortium will aim to organise several panels and present at least 15 academic papers to at as a minimum one major international scientific conference within each of the subdisciplinary fields of sociology anthropology and youth studies eg ISA ESA BSA as relevant to CHIEFs thematic scope

Completion of series of policy workshops

Completion of the series of policy workshops will be achieved by M36 and result in Implementation of three workshops bringing together different stakeholders policymakers practitioners civil society activists researchers and young people per country During the planned policy workshops the stakeholders communicative model will receive practical application and will lead to effective multisectoral collaboration in identifying community needs in enhancing cultural participation and intercultural dialogue Workshop 1 followed by developing an action plan to address these needs Workshop 2 and linked to the collaborative initiatives delivered as D42 Finally Workshop 3 will provide a platform for discussion and shaping of national policy recommendations D83

Data-base of academic and policy literature

Database of academic and policy literature will be gradually developed from sources provided by consortium partners (except CC and CfE) working on WP1. Each database entry will contain a short explanatory annotation in English and in consortium partners’ languages. The database will be available on the project website to external users from M9

Implementation of stakeholders’ collaborative projects

Implementation of stakeholders collaborative projects will result from collaborative initiatives between policymakers and civil society organisations targeting young peoples cultural practices and participation in policymaking process D42 will be delivered in collaboration between the leads of WPs 4 7 and 8 by M41 D42 will further showcase the effectiveness of the model of partnership and collaboration between different stakeholders practitioners civil society activists policymakers and local youth in developing more inclusive and relevant practices of informal education cultural participation and socialisation
