The Nutri4g project by MG Nutrición 3G S.L. was approved within the call for SME Instrument H2020, Topic SMEInst-01-2016-2017: Open Disruptive Innovation Scheme, Call 2017-02-15.

The increased life expectancy in Europe means that a growing number of Europeans suffer from general health problems for the elderly. There are a number of diseases that are generally age related, are very prevalent in society and cause high rates of mortality. Our scientific team has selected to focus on eleven diseases that are most common in the elderly and can be prevented by specific diets.

We have developed a very easy-to-use and low-cost genetic test that determines genetic predisposition to 11 diseases and a powerful algorithm to generate personalized dietary guidelines (scientifically tested by dietitians) for each client, based on their genetic predisposition to suffering from the tested diseases. We have also developed the Nutri4g online platform, based on our own algorithm, allowing us to provide a complete service, in which, beginning with a test that determines genetic predisposition to eleven diseases (performed without extractions of blood), we offer the customer dietary guidelines that are genetically customized and scientifically tested by dietitians, in order to prevent diseases associated with the elderly.

The overall objective of the Project is to confirm the business strategy, business model, intellectual property strategy and marketing strategy for the company MG Nutricion 3G S.L. through the Nutri4g Project. To do so, we have improved our business plan to allows the international business expansion of our company, with the support of our Genetically Personalised TeleNutrition Platform (hereinafter Nutrition 4g).

The Project has been developed as planned, in terms of deadlines, budgets, actions, and results obtained.
Activity No. 1 of the project has enabled us to test to test the levels of interest of dietitians on a global scale and determine the fastest way to reach them (channel test). It was about seeing which entities or companies were interested in supporting the commercialization of our solution.

Activity No. 2 has enabled us to improve our value proposition and adapt it to each specific segment, as well as to design a marketing plan and establish a series of actions to launch the product.

Activity No. 3 has enabled us to establish our IP strategy. We have studied related patents and verified that we do not infringe any. In addition, we have thoroughly reviewed each key aspect of our solution, studying its adequate protection levels.

In Activity No. 4, the business model has been designed employing the Canvas methodology, along with the alliance, and business and marketing strategies. The company has undertaken a very important strategic reflection, involving the whole organization. Activity No. 4 included the development of a comprehensive business plan, which includes an economic & financial plan for the next five years.

The business coaching has contributed to being able to visualize the motivations of the MG Nutrition 3g partners and align them with the company’s strategy. It has also contributed to identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the team and to prioritize the company's objectives and to reinforce the need to promote the business development department of the company.
We have designed, developed and validated a disruptive solution combining our in depth scientific knowledge with a self-developed algorithm and a web platform, that allows us to provide a service that, until now, could not be provided. Our Nutri4g platform allows us to offer this service at a reasonable price and develop an innovative business model that is highly scalable internationally.

The Nutri4g Project will have a significant impact on the improvement of life quality in people in Europe, contributing to the prevention of diseases common to the elderly. Nutri4g is fully aligned with the European targets for the Silver Economy strategy and with the eHealth Action Plan 2012-2020: Innovative healthcare for the 21st century.

Promoters expect to demonstrate that MG Nutrición 3G SL will soon be an internationally recognized company within the field of nutrigenetic services.

MG Nutrición 3G SL will have generated a significant number of jobs, as well as important economic surpluses.
