Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Due to increasing traffic load of local roads and highways in the EU the wear of the road system is increasing. The main problem to be solved by the overall project is the life span of pothole repairs and overall number of asphalt roads repairs. Asphalt surface repair methods currently used do not reach life span of repairs comparable with microwave technology. Moreover, microwave technology allows repairs of potholes during the entire year, even during the winter season. Main benefits for the society is increased infrastructure quality, road safety, resource effectiveness and seamlessness of European transport. The overall objective of the project is to introduce on the market an environmentally friendly and cost effective versatile machine for pavement maintenance. It represents competitive alternative to traditional technologies currently used.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The main goal of the project was to create a feasibility study for FT3 road maintenance machine. We have carried out research and analysis concerning various fields covering technical, financial and commercial aspects. The following fields were mainly analysed: 1) Technical feasibility; 2) Market analysis; 3) Financial analysis; 4) Marketing; 5) Implementation Plan and 6) Project Management.
Following objectives were achieved during the project implementation: greater understanding of our client´s needs; better understanding of marketing methods; deeper knowledge of the market needs and the competitors within it; the business plan to reach the market.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

We estimate in our business plan that the project will produce a turnover of €16,35 M and 23 new employees (headcounts) in the company by the 3rd year of commercialization.
A ready-to-market FT3 machines will help to maintain European roads and highways in better condition thus the safety of the European traffic will improve. FT3 machine will offer longer life span and durability of road repairs, year-round usage and reduced repair time.
