At the start of the project, a plan is elaborated to outline the dissemination and communication activities so as to raise awareness amongst the different target audiences in academic, policymaking, industry and societal circles, and to inform and engage them. Different communication channels are considered and developed according to their importance for the project: website, papers, press releases and articles, social media, blogs, webinars, podcasts, videos, and newsletters, etc.

Analysis and assessment of the state-of-the-art European documentation and metadata standards for the social sciences, and then selection of the most suited one for historical data and printed sources. The selected standard includes information on the reasons for collecting the data, the data collection methods and procedures, the database scheme and the data structure as well as other coding schemes. If feasible, task 4.1 also compiles a record of (all) data modifications. Specific attention is paid to document the origins of historical sources.
