Elaboration large-scale surveys (questionnaires) on stakeholders’ perspectives preferences for the design of EURHISFIRM.

Dissemination and communication plan

At the start of the project, a plan is elaborated to outline the dissemination and communication activities so as to raise awareness amongst the different target audiences in academic, policymaking, industry and societal circles, and to inform and engage them. Different communication channels are considered and developed according to their importance for the project: website, papers, press releases and articles, social media, blogs, webinars, podcasts, videos, and newsletters, etc.

Review of the national data formats investigation on the possibilities for an overarching identification system and the development of a stepwise transformation and implementation process As a first step to evaluate harmonization process alternatives four basic common data design and application cases France Belgium Germany and the UK covering the most important priceperformance factors influencing this new common data harmonization process are identified

Revision and update of the initial national and common data formats based on the results obtain ed through other tasksSpecial emphasis will be placed on the metadata specification and data governance framework which enables the mapping of data from diverse sources and legacy systems to the common data model and which supports the ability to capture the lineage provenance and characteristics of the original sources of data including how data is captured or generated

Active promotion of the project via presentations at events and workshops and any other channels identified in the dissemination and communication plan

Information system and documentation standards

Analysis and assessment of the state-of-the-art European documentation and metadata standards for the social sciences, and then selection of the most suited one for historical data and printed sources. The selected standard includes information on the reasons for collecting the data, the data collection methods and procedures, the database scheme and the data structure as well as other coding schemes. If feasible, task 4.1 also compiles a record of (all) data modifications. Specific attention is paid to document the origins of historical sources.

Involvement of new stakeholders as participants to the General Assembly

Reaching out to the different stakeholders so as to connect their experience to the project and create links with a wide audience of experts such as industry practitioners scholars and policy makers
