The international exchange with Ecuador on ‘Buen Vivir in Real Smart Cities’ will culminate in a one-day symposium forming part of the annual conference of the Instituto Latinoamericano de Investigacion en Artes (ILIA), to be chaired by López, Vignola and Baranzoni (M9/M20). Topics will reflect the local diversity of South American city spaces and the ensuing need for cultural specificity in the use and implementation of digital technologies within and beyond the smart city.
RIF ENMIThe RIF ENMI Annual Research and Innovation Week T34 will be filmed and stored in IRIs online archive of digital studies research where it will also be made available to ERs ERSs ad the broader public for contributive research annotation in line with IRIs commitment to developing prototypical innovations in web publishing tools M136 For the last several years a selection of articles from the annual Entretiens du Nouveau Monde Industriel have been published in IRIs series with FYP with roughly an 18 month delay M21 M2414 M2421
Collected Edition Etudes Digitales (Ethics & Politics)The output for T11 and T12 will be a special edition of the peerreviewed Ethics and Politics on the Real Smart City coedited by Fitzpatrick Baranzoni and Vignola and comprising worked up versions of Guayaquil Archipelago interventions This will be ready for submission in M15 and will include At least two articles will focus on the integration of public data into transdisciplinary studies of the Data City with an emphasis on the critique of political issues related to citizenship participation privacy immanent in datacapture regimes At least two articles will focus on the privacy and commercialization of public data smart city data within the EU space Other articles will incorporate perspectives on smart and real smart cities from multiple disciplinary perspectives including eg one by Moore on the risks posed by smart cities to human capacities for environmental niche construction and the potential of new digital tools to recapacitate niche construction which will feed into deliverable 31 In line with UAs performance and implementation of public artworks or interactos UAs Baranzoni will coordinate the creation of two independent high international standard artworks both of which will harness digital methods to generate reflection on the DATA CITY which will feed into the Toolkit Research and Innovation Focus Transdisciplinary Study and the Digital Episteme under deliverable 61 to be published as the second part of the special edition of tudies digitales outlined M24
