This project relates to the analysis of a Ti(IV) stable non-toxic anticancer compound in different mice models, alone and in combination, and pharmacokinetic analysis. We have found the compound to be significantly active on a lung and colon murine models, as well as on a colon human model on nude mice. Importantly, the compound shows no side effects in the treated animals in all experiments: no weight loss, hair loss or any behavioral changes, and no change in kidney function related parameters. Analysis of a combination of the drug with known drugs given in the clinic for relevant tumors have shown similar efficacy with reduced side effects relative to those of the known drugs, with no added toxicity of the Ti-based drug whatsoever. Importantly, recent experiments have also shown that the compound is also active when provided orally through the drinking water of the tested mice. Additional experiments are required to establish whether the compound remains intact in the stomach or decomposes to active ingredients.
