Infertility is becoming a public health issue in Europe. In the EU, infertility affects approximately 25 million citizens . In worildwide, it is estimated that one out of six people experience some form of infertility during their reproductive lifespan. Europe is characterized by low fertility, postponed childbearing, increase in childlessness among younger generations. OvAge s.r.l. is a business start-up born from one of the best cutting-edge research of the University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro. Its mission is to improve women quality of life by bringing to the international market medical devices for the solution of gynaecological diseases. OvAge s.r.l. is the owner of a pioneering medical device-software able in quantifying women ovarian reserve (OR) by integrating clinical, biochemical and 3D- ultrasonographic data. This instrument, called OvAge®, is already developed as a patented mathematical algorithm. OvAge® combines complementary evaluations to give as a result explicitly the ovarian age of every woman, a ready-to-use information that is going to revolutionize the relationship of women with themselves, their life and with the Specialists in the field of Gynaecology
Ovage are planning to launch our product in the EU market initially through a web site. After SME instrument phase 1 conclusion, we aim to commercialize it in the rest of the EU market and in the rest of the world. Actually the Ovage's sell strategy contemplates a unique selling point into the web But, this is the best strategy?
The objective of the activities is to identify the best market strategy for Ovage.
The project plan was developed in 4 steps:
1. Recognize the characteristics of the market (Market segment identification)
2. Evaluate best process to keep a client's business (positioning strategy)
3. Define the Ovage’s commercial strategy
4. Investigate possible risks in our commercial strategy
At the end of the project Ovage knows:
- the right firm positioning
- the product and price strategy to be adopted
- the right price to transfer the rights of the patent
