Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Eccocar is determined to accelerate, through efficiency, the world’s transition to sustainable mobility. Shared mobility is going to be a key part of the mobility ecosystem, and eccocar is helping fleet managers, rent-a-cars and car dealerships, as well as anybody who wants to get as much as possible out of their fleet of vehicles.
During the last months, eccocar commenced to operate the first corporate clients, offering a converged solution of car sharing and fleet management for existing fleets.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The purpose of the last months within the program was to test the correct functionality of the product, validate the market hypothesis, and gather information on customer’s pains and possible gains to improve the value proposition for the current and future customers.
The target customers were B2B and B2B2C, corporates with fleets to be optimised as well as rent-a-cars and car dealerships which do not want to miss the digitalisation trend and the opportunity to improve their services to their end customers.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

On the B2B side, cars were used in a shared manner, accessing them digitally making use of the car sharing platform provided by eccocar.
Significant mobility data from the fleets and users was gathered, analysed and presented to the customers, giving them insights about mobility patterns, routes and overall usage of the fleet. Also, recommendations were given on how optimise the fleets, and how much part of their overall fleets could be used in a shared manner, optimising its use and helping reduce the number of cars while maintaining the levels of service.

On the B2B2C, where eccocar’s customers will make use of the digital services for their end customers, on top of using the car sharing services and digital access to the car, eccocar worked closely to shape new products in order to improve the value for their end customers. This information is the foundation of the new lines of work that will bring eccocar to the next level in terms of shared mobility solutions.

Overall, the services provided by eccocar have a great market potential and not only was that reassured during the last months but has also been proven that the mobility industry is experiencing deep change and that companies, mobility providers and OEMs are all-in about shared and multimodal mobility.
