Commercial-scale Graphene Electronic Devices Fab

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GFAB (Commercial-scale Graphene Electronic Devices Fab)

Período documentado: 2018-04-01 hasta 2019-01-31

Problem/issue being addressed:
Need for graphene processing: currently, there is no service solution in the market for processing graphene and fabricating graphene-based devices. These devices are required in order to develop industrial applications for graphene in the sensors, biosensor and photonics industries.

Importance for society:
The European society will improve from having graphene devices since this will allow to obtain disruptive innovation in the fields of sensors, biosensors and photonics. Good examples of these include better communication systems enabling beyond 5G networks with graphene based materials as well as improved treatments and early detection of cancer.

Overall objectives:
To develop a graphene processing fabrication service to enable the development of new devices in the field of biosensors, sensors and photonics.
1. Developed a business plan for graphene fab services that include the fabrication of graphene devices (GFETs).
2. Launching of graphene device fabrication platform.
3. Attendance to conferences and events to disseminate the launching of the new service and product.
4. Successful first order received for the Gfab service.
Currently there is no commercial Gfab service for fabricating graphene devices, this markedly slows down the adoption of graphene materials into commercial products and the development of new devices in the sensors, biosensors and photonics fields.

The expected results from this project are:
• Awareness of the availability of the new commercial service
• Creation of new jobs in Europe
• Increase in revenue for Graphenea and European companies
• Adoption of service to create devices
• Aid graphene industrialization
• First step towards more complex graphene device processing
