2.1 Berlin Statement of the Arctic Ministerial
The organisers of ASM2 agreed on the following three themes that will take part in the Berlin statement:
1. Strengthening, Integrating and Sustaining Arctic Observations, Facilitating Access to
Arctic Data, and Sharing Arctic Research Infrastructure
2. Understanding Regional and Global Dynamics of Arctic Change
3. Assessing Vulnerability and Building Resilience of Arctic Environments and Societies
Discussion about the final version of the document with the participating countries will be a continuous process.

This document summarizes the second Arctic Science Ministerial that will be held in Washington, DC, at the White House, on October 26, 2018, to advance international research efforts. It includes the meeting agenda, a list of participants, a Berlin “fact sheet” that describes the outcomes from the meeting, a Joint Statement of Ministers, and a list of media reports on the event. The document also includes a compilation of two-page descriptions of Arctic science support provided by the ministerial delegations (representing 29 nations and the European Union).

The Strategic Research & Implementation Agenda for the Arctic Region lay out the common priorities for the region by the participating countries of ASM2; its Implementation Plan will provide clear guidance and responsibilities to achieve milestones associated with the Strategy.
