A data streaming platform to empower companies with intelligence through their entire business and value chains

Project description

Innovative data analysis system for actionable insights

It’s not always easy for companies to transform their data into actionable insights. The processing of raw data and meaningful information is costly and cumbersome, and siloes storing data from disparate sources have limited accessibility. There is currently no service for a secure information ecosystem. The EU-funded ACTIVITY EXCHANGE project will offer a solution. It will develop Activity Stream Exchange (ASe) – a complete data analysis system that combines data integration, operation intelligence, and an exchange solution that ensures the maximum data value shared across the business network. ASe reduces the workload of a data analyst by 80 % and can improve sales by 10 % and cost savings by 35 %.

Objective

Activity Stream was established in 2015 in Iceland, to provide AI-enhanced data platforms, developing industry-specific functionalities. Our multidisciplinary and committed team of 28 people counts with over decades worth of experience developing online software solutions. In that way, we have already developed the Activity Stream (AS) platform for big data analysis. Our next milestone is to develop AS Exchange (Ase), a project that goes a mile further to solve the challenges that companies currently face to turn their data into timely actionable insights: 1) Raw data must be processed to have insights and it is a costly process 2) data from disparate sources is stored in siloes with little accessibility 3) such service for a secure information ecosystem currently does not exist in the market.
ASe is the most complete data analysis system in the market: combines data integration, operation intelligence and an exchange solution, ensuring the maximum data value, going from raw data to actionable insights that can be shared across the business network. Our platform reduces 80% of the workload of a data analyst. Due to fast and timely actions can improve a 10% sales and 35% costs savings, ASe is a cost-efficient possibility for SMEs. Moreover, ASe is the only B2B solution in the market that provides the necessary trust, security and data ownership control to collaborate or monetize data-driven insights.
AS platform has been already sold to some customers within sport and life-entertainment industry. With ASe we will now target new industries such as manufacturers and retail businesses, subject to complex supply chains; in this context, big players such as Nike are already waiting for ASe. With ASe we bring a disruptive approach towards data analysis, taking us and Europe to the world forefront of data analytics, generating sales of near €40M in 3 years and creating 30 new direct jobs.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
