Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Teflon have been a revolution on cookware market: its hydrophobicity permits an easier way to cook and to be cleaned. Nevertheless, huge concerns have arisen due to toxicity of this material when overheated, so that kitchenware producers are struggling to replace it with a safer coating.
Pramar S.r.l. will be the first to realize a coating product resistant to high temperatures while maintaining its hydrophobicity and adhesion to the surface. COOKSAFE will offer properties such as easy-to-clean, non-migratory to food, high corrosion resistance.
The project will be oriented to obtain:
• Coating formula optimization
• Certificationfor the sale of COOKSAFE coating and products coated with COOKSAFE
• Development of innovative production lines
The FS confirms the uniqueness of our solution, its technical feasibility and commercial profitability even in a pessimistic scenario. In addition, COOKSAFE has already the support and interest of our most loyal clients, who have expressed their enthusiasm in our product through letters of interest.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

Technical feasibility – Work Plan Definition, including: customer pain; SoA assessment; technology description; product application, testing and validation; objectives for TRL9; work plan definition; analysis of risks and preventive actions.
Commercial feasibility, including: market overview; end user’s definition; market segmentation, value and trends; PESTEL, SWOT and Porter’s 5 forces analysis; market barriers and mitigation measures; legal and regulatory requirements; IPR strategy and FtO; strategy for knowledge protection; commercialization plan; exploitation, dissemination and communication strategies.
Financial feasibility, including: project financial viability; business projections and 3 possible scenarios.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

COOKSAFE is the solution for demanded requirements in the kitchenware and household cooking appliances. There is no other similar solution available that includes all COOKSAFEfeatures (high heat and corrosion resistance, easy-to- clean, non-migratory to food and eco-friendly properties).COOKSAFE will have a great impact on the market since it will be sold as a single product with all the required properties. our product will not imply any human health’s problem (no harmful toxins are released at high temperatures) and it will reduce the environmental pollution as, in its production process, up to 60% less CO2 is emitted. COOKSAFE will grow our company by increasing its revenue (+10.9 M €) and employees (+22) by 2025.
