Project description
Digital Twin technology for IIoT solutions
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is becoming essential for several industries and represents a new market opportunity. However, the current IT infrastructure impedes several large industrial entities from implementing IIoT solutions. The EU-funded PGplant project proposes a revolutionary multi-layered 3D user interface that replaces multiple User Interfaces of current business systems. The solution relies on Digital Twin technology offering a new method to visualize corporate data and empower decision-making. As PGplant is already technically well scalable, the project will focus on the scalability of the business model and its validity outside the domestic market, starting with the manufacturing industry.
Objective
Industrial Internet of Things is expected to disrupt entire industries. The market related to IIoT is forecasted to add trillions of dollars to the global economy by 2030. This new and lucrative market opportunity attracts a variety of players, among them large established business system providers as well as innovative newcomers with emerging technologies. The current situation is that many large industrial organizations are stuck with current IT infrastructure and are therefore sluggish in implementing IIoT solutions. This situation is at the moment rapidly changing and will open an opportunity window for innovative SMEs, which create new services and disruptive practices in close cooperation with forward looking industrial partners.
Process Genius Ltd (PG) is one of those newcomers changing the way industrial companies are managed. We offer a new approach to visualize corporate data and empower the decision making. We do it by providing customers with a revolutionary multi-layered 3D user interface, which replaces multiple UI's of current business systems. This so called Digital Twin technology has appeared in the latest Gartner’s Hype Cycle for the Internet of Things among Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2017 with transformational impact on the industry. According to Gartner’s definition, Digital Twin is “a dynamic software model of a physical thing or system”. So PG’s approach brings additional value on top of the basic concept. We give to industrial internet an attractive 3D facade.
PG’s main objective for the near future is to make our business scalable and ready for expansion to the global market. Since technically our solution is already well scalable, we should focus on the scalability of our business model as well as its validity outside the domestic market. Actions described in this proposal will provide proper grounds for expansion in EU market. The main industrial focus of Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects will be in manufacturing industry.
