Resumen del contexto y de los objetivos generales del proyecto

The End Point Detection and Response market is a new and competitive landscape where new companies can succeed with innovation in the technologies and process that legacy cybersecurity companies have fail. EDR platforms will provide to the companies adopting it the visibility to understand when an antivirus has missed a threat, and evolved beyond a simple malware infection. This represents new opportunities of market adoption and expansion on the sectors that are especially targeted by cybercrime and unprotected by the traditional market of cybersecurity products.

Thus, the following objectives were accomplished as part of the feasibility study: A technical study including necessary tests and adaptations, a freedom-to-operate analysis and a research of EU and national regulations and standards that our product needs to comply with, the elaboration of the commercialization and business plan, the identification of stakeholder and partners and an analysis of the financial feasibility.

Month 1-Month 3 (M1-M3) Analysis of the technical feasibility including the detailed definition of the independent test and the test agencies as well as develop a detailed plan of activities for the ROMAD technical upgrade and a detailed technical and commercial evaluation of the time and costs of the incorporation of its new features.
M2-M4 Analysis of commercial feasibility performing a market analysis to clearly identify the needs and special features that different potential clients could need and match with what ROMAD products could cover.
M3-M4 Analysis of the regulatory framework (EU regulations regarding cybersecurity), intellectual property strategy (implications of the recent patent grant).
M1-M4 Identification of all the institutions, partners and entities where analysed to map their role in each one of the areas involved.
M3-M4 Financial and business plan development including expected cost, sales, and returns.

Avances que van más allá del estado de la técnica e impacto potencial esperado (incluida la repercusión socioeconómica y las implicaciones sociales más amplias del proyecto hasta la fecha)

The expected technological results after the performance of all the task in the work packages is to have a robust cybersecurity suite that is able to operate at international level. ROMAD will be creating a next generation of cyber defence solution, based on detecting malware families, rather than individual variants.
All and all, ROMAD TrueProactive™ is a “best value for money” defence tool to our customers (especially to SME’s without extensive ICT department) due to slightly lower price at better performance.
