"Ever since the European Researchers' Night project initiated, our consortium used it to strengthen ties between the academic community and the public at large, bringing scientists to meet the public at eye-level.
We are proud to say that along the years we have achieved that goal by running venues all over the country in both main cities and the periphery while partners also engaged the public by outreach activities at local pubs, cafes and community centers. We have moved forward with that important concept and opened new venues that will bring scientists to new audience to increase the number of young people that will personally meet scientists.

Global objectives:
1. Enhancing public recognition of researchers and their work by providing the public (based on previous years we expect more than 55,000 attendees each year) and most particularly the younger generation, countrywide, with an opportunity to meet researchers within the context of a festive activity and to promote interest in science, as well as to highlight the appeal of pursuing a research career.
2. Render science and scientists more accessible to the public-at-large, with a view to diminishing stereotypes about researchers and their profession. Researchers will demonstrate their hobbies alongside their scientific carriers to help remove any stereotypes.
3. Celebrate researchers' and scientists' achievements along the 70 years of Israel independence in 2018 and in making ""Ideas Come True"" in 2019. Those subjects which are strongly tightened to the Israeli culture will draw the attention to the importance role of scientists and science in our life and Israel's existence.
4. Ensure that the ERNI2018 & ERNI2019 awareness campaigns will be disseminated to the public in the broadcasted, printed and electronic media, on both national and local levels, in order to reach an estimation of two and a half million people (~30% of the population).
5. Running themed events and same major activities at all venues with one integrated awareness campaign will maximize the effect of European Researchers' Night across the entire county.
6. Highlight the involvement and contribution of the EU to researchers and research with active EU-sites (we have moved from previous EU-corners concept to EU-sites which will allow bigger and more relevant presents of EU on each and every venue) on all venues.”

Offer of the activities globally as planned in the Annex I part B to the Grant agreement, namely:
o Various types of actives offered in each of the 14 venues amongst the national territory;
o Offer of activities (whether by university, research institute, college and science museums.) based on meetings between researchers and the public; activities also scheduled in nearby cities allowed increasing the overall audience and reaching the public that would not normally come to campuses;
o Offer of activities in several languages (often delivered by guest researchers on campuses);
o Visit of serval of the venues by the Israeli science Minister and the EU delegation in Israel;
o 247 researchers actively involved in the implementation of the activities, of which:
o 10 having benefited from MSCA;
o 68 having benefitted from another EU support (FP 7, HORIZON 2020);
o Attendance of 34.993 visitors having taken part to the various activities offered in the different venues.

2018:
o Collection, analysis and processing of 1.472 electronic questionnaires correctly filled in;
o Main conclusions:
o Typology of responders: 50 % female, 50 % male, major part aged 31-50, followed by 6-12, 13-18, 19-30 and over 51, 48% having no education in science;
o Overall positive feedback on the events themselves (activities, interest, contacts with researchers, schedule, venues and locations);
o Most appreciated activities: experiential science stations (followed by kids' activities, meetings with scientists and lectures);
o Increased awareness about science, researchers and the societal impact of their job;
o Increased interest for science careers and science engagement after having taken part in the activities offered;
o Significant stimulation of scientific curiosity through participation in the Night event;

2019:
o Collection, analysis and processing of 1.324 electronic questionnaires correctly filled in;
o Main conclusions:
o Typology of responders: 55 % female, 45 % male, major part aged 13-18 and 31-50, followed by 6-12, 19-30 and over 51, 48% of them having no education in science;
o Overall positive feedback on the events themselves (activities, interest, contacts with researchers, schedule, venues and locations);
o Most appreciated activities: Activities for children (followed by experiential science stations, lectures and meetings with scientists);
o Increased awareness about science, researchers and the societal impact of their job;
o Increased interest for science careers and science engagement after having taken part in the activities offered;
o Significant stimulation of scientific curiosity through participation in the Night event;
