Artificial PeRceptIon Chip for the Intelligence Of Things

Periodic Reporting for period 3 - APRICOT (Artificial PeRceptIon Chip for the Intelligence Of Things)

Período documentado: 2020-12-01 hasta 2021-05-31

The goal of APRICOT is to accelerate the industrialisation and commercialisation of the disruptive artificial intelligence (AI) technology of AnotherBrain, which goes beyond the current mainstream AI based on deep learning/neural networks.
Our powerful Singular AI, embedded on a chip, will have a major global impact in multiple domains as it will enable efficient, transparent and explainable, data preserving and GDPR-compliant, controllable and adaptable AI-enhanced products and services in our everyday life.
Human-friendly, this technology offers new possibilities for such markets as industry, automotive or IoT and will contribute to European digital sovereignty and will enable Europe to get a leadership in AI.
The APRICOT project was dedicated to the development of a new generation of Artificial Intelligence and embedding it on a chip in form of an FPGA, which is a vital step towards AnotherBrain's Singular AI ASIC.
During the project, a significant progress was made on the finalization of the Singular AI algorithm as well as the Singular AI chip in form an FPGA.
The company realized three POC with industrial partners in three different fields : robotics, IoT and industry which allowed to test and validate the technology.
During APRICOT project, AnotherBrain advanced in delivering a new generation of Artificial Intelligence. The Singular AI technology was embedded in an FPGA prototype which shows its novelty and the progress beyond the state of the art and which is a vital step towards AnotherBrain’s Singular AI ASIC.

In line with the artificial intelligence strategy and digitalization objectives of the European Commission, AnotherBrain’s AI technology has the potential to contribute to European digital sovereignty and bring a leadership in AI.

Bio-inspired, explicable, frugal and functioning without big data, AnotherBrain's Singular AI contributes to the Ecosystem of excellence, the goal of European Commission described in its White Paper on Artificial Intelligence from February 2021 and is also in line with the goals set up for Ecosystem of trust as we pursue a human-centric approach aiming at a trustworthy AI respecting the values of EU citizens.

AnotherBrain has also advanced in the gender balance. From 23% of women at the beginning of APRICOT project, we reached 34% at its end. An improvement but the percentage is not yet satisfactory. Therefore we keep our efforts to onboard women collaborators in our technology sector which is curently still a challenge.
