Periodic Reporting for period 2 - DIH² (A Pan‐European Network of Robotics DIHs for Agile Production) Reporting period: 2020-01-01 to 2021-09-30 Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project The DIH² vision is to build a sustainable pan-European network to facilitate and accelerate the knowledge and technology exchange among robotics Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs). The DIHs will facilitate the uptake of the latest robotic technologies across the European Union in the field of agile production. he ambition of the DIH² project is to:- Improve the cost effectiveness of advanced robotics solutions.- Drive growth of the robotics market.- Generate innovation that maximises productivity and optimises agility in over 300,000 manufacturing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Caps across the European Union.DIH² is a network of 26 European Digital Innovation Hubs. Our objective is to grow this network to over 170 DIHs by 2022. Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far Following results were achieved during the first period:- Establishing the DIH² network of initial 26 DIHs- Specification of DIH² Marketplace "RAMP"- Designing DIH² Marketplace 1.0 and - DIH² Digital Platform 1.0- Designing the first MooC Training Courses - Designing DIH² IP and ELS services- Designing LER procedures- Standardisation Needs survey and reporting 1.0- Starting up DIH² Sponsors network- Organising 3 European level and 37 national level Robot Days- Initiating the first Open Call, in which the 1st round brought altogether 400 applications- Organising 4 Eropean level and 11 national brokerage events- Designing and testing the Agility Audit 1.0- Promoting DIH² in 228 events (workshop, exhibition, meetings, conferences, lectures or trade shows) and via online channels (website, newsletter, social media, press releases) with a total of 448 activities- Publishing 1 scientific article- Drafting the DIH² Business plan 1.0- Creation of brand for DIH² project and RAMP Marketplace- On theaAdministrative side, Quality Management Plan and Project Data Management Plan were created and followed Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far) euRobotics aisbl has recently published a white paper with its vision on how robotics will feature in agile manufacturing. DIH2 will contribute to this 10-years-vision by pursuing strategic targets described in the following guidelines: “Make it simple” (Accelerate innovations in robotics), “Make it cheap” (Make robotics for SMEs), “Make it everywhere” (Increase robotics suppliers), "Make it for everybody” (Increase robotics buyers). These guidelines have already guided the work in the first reporting period. The DIH² innovation potential is its holistic approach integrating a Common Open Platform Reference Architecture for Agile Production (COPRA-AP), based on a federation model of existing platforms of reference at EU level, together with a systematic methodology for addressing Agile enablers while contributing to its standardisation and rapid commercialization with re-skilling and security issues, Technology Transfer Program, all this integrated in the framework of an envisaged self-sustainable pan-European Network of robotics DIHs.DIH² is the starting point for manufacturing SMEs to become the driving force of larger value network.
