Goal of the Graph-IC POC was to verify the innovation potential of silicon-technology-integrated graphene photodetectors for high speed optical data communication. We were able to characterize first device demonstrators, reviewed and analyzed viability and identify technical issues. We demonstrate technical feasibility of high-speed graphene photonic devices. A market research was performed showing that there is an increasing demand for ultrafast photonic devices. The analysis of the IPR situation performed within Graph-IC contributed to file 4 patents and set up an agreement between AMO and the established startup company.
