ETIPWind- Aligning Wind Energy Research and Innovation Strategies

Project description

Driving the development of wind energy

Europe needs a rapid scale-up of wind energy to help keep global warming well below 2 °C and deliver on its Paris Climate Agreement commitments. Established in 2016 to inform research and innovation policy at European and national level, the European Technology & Innovation Platform on Wind Energy (ETIPWind) provides a public platform to wind energy stakeholders to identify priorities and foster innovations. This EU-funded project will continue and enhance the activities and deliverables of the current ETIPWind by bringing together key stakeholders of the wind energy sector (both industry and academia). The overall aim will be to exchange best practices and highlight technological achievements to facilitate system integration in order to drive the development of wind energy and reduce costs across the supply chain.

Objective

The overall objective of the ETIPWind project is to continue and enhance the activities and deliverables of the current ETIPWind. The project will bring together key stakeholders of the wind energy sector (industry and academia) and the broader energy sector to assess challenges and articulate common Research & Innovation priorities. The ETIPWind project aims to inform the European Commission's SET-Plan and the Research & Innovation implementation plan on EU's Research & Innovation policy to sustain Europe's global competitive edge in wind energy and deliver on the EU's Climate and Energy targets cost-effectively.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.

CSA - Coordination and support action
