Project description
Advanced electrolysers for green fuels
Europe’s strategy for a low-carbon green economy hinges on efficient and low-cost solutions that provide green fuels such as green methanol. The EU-funded Djewels project will prove the operational readiness of the 20 MW electrolyser for the production of green methanol in ordinary industrial and commercial situations. The project will boost the creation of advanced pressurised alkaline electrolysers by improving existing density electrodes aiming at standardised production. It will combine economies of scale with the flexible and perfect operation of the electrolyser to ensure low-cost hydrogen for customers. The project aims to improve the technology towards the next generation of 100 MW and is in line with the ambitions of the FCH2-JU and the regional roadmap.
