AQUA4D - For an efficient use of irrigation water

AQUA4D-HR is an innovative electromagnetic water treatment system suitable for large crops irrigation (cereals, oilseeds and pulses) in pivot irrigation systems (high water flow rates). AQUA4D-HR optimizes the irrigation process and achieves key benefits for water use, crops yield and soil quality.
The overall objective of the project is the technological adaptation of AQUA4D-HR to high water flow rates and the development of a robust business plan to bring our system to the pivot irrigation market by July 2021 with minimum risks.
AQUA4D-HR phase 2 project will be carried out by PHT from June 2019 to June 2021 (24 months), with the development of the following activities: Technological adaptation to high flow rates; pilot manufacturing; validation in real operational conditions; starting-up of an assembling line for serial production; certification and development of a strategic commercialization plan.
AQUA4D-HR project will achieve relevant revenues for PHT: An estimated number of 3.075 units will be sold in target countries (first five years of commercialization), with a turnover of 85.403.225 € for PHT.
AQUA4D-HR will get key benefits for end-users (large crops farmers) from the technological and the commercial points of view: Up to 20% water saving; up to 20% increased crop production; reduction of soil salinity and mineral crystallization in the rhizosfere and larger useful life for pivot irrigation systems. Moreover, AQUA4D-HR will be designed to have an affordable price for farmers, with an associated ROI < 3 years. These two facts will turn into large farmers´ willingness to pay for our system.
AQUA4D-HR will have an important overall impact in the large crops irrigation market: End-users at the forefront of sustainable agriculture practices through an AgTech innovative solution.
At global level, the pivot irrigation market, a strong and consolidated market valued at 1 billion Euros (2016) and expected to reach 2,5 billion € in 2022, will be clearly reinforced.
