Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Data has become the most valued asset for business. However, data revolution is in its primary step: Companies accumulate silos of data without knowing how to create real business value from it in an automated way. The current approach to the digital transformation is based on fragmentation: isolated tools with expensive customised developments for different areas of the organisation.
GDE has created DEMS-Nixus, the only complete solution for automated Data Integration, Data Cleansing, Business Intelligence, Data Governance and Data Exchange. GDE´s platform is the first end-to-end solution that is able to process natural language with no deployment effort or necessity for programming from the client side, providing business real value on the fly based on the specific context. The platform implementation doesn´t require to change the existing infrastructure or the creation of data silos, accelerating thus the value creation while minimising the cost of the business transformation.
A feasibility study is needed to confirm that there is a real market opportunity for the product whilst the conditions for the commercialisation are beneficial.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

Creation of a work plan of technical activities needed to complete the innovation, divided in three main areas: development, integration and testing.
According to the market analysis, worldwide revenues for big data and business analytics solutions will reach $260 billion in 2022 with a CAGR of 11.9% between 2017-2022. The industries making the largest investments will be banking, manufacturing, professional services, and governments.
The freedom-to-operate demonstrates that GDE is not-infringing patents or pending patent applications of others. GDE has decided to keep the confidentiality of the new innovative features by protecting its software in every target market through copyright.
The business plan demonstrates that the business idea is profitable, and it has a positive impact: detecting the early adopters from the beginning and speed to market are two key aspects of the entry strategy.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

DEMS-Nixus represents a shift of paradigm by automating the permanent dialog between the real world (humans) and the digital world (machines) based on semantics (natural language), contextual intelligence and direct access to data. Through the implementation of such a disruptive innovation, GDE will create 19 new direct jobs during the project and will generate over €96M of revenues during the period 2019-2023.
