Europe and Mexico collaborate on exascale computing
High-performance computing involves thousands of processors working in parallel to analyse data in real time, performing calculations thousands of times faster than a normal computer. Industries are increasingly relying on supercomputers to work on innovative solutions, reduce costs, and decrease time to market for products and services. The EU-funded ENERXICO project is working on developing high-performance simulation tools to modernise the energy industry in Mexico. The new tools will be used in exascale computers to address crucial challenges in the oil and gas industry – upstream, midstream and downstream, and the wind energy industry. The project offers the energy industries in the EU and Mexico the opportunity to strengthen ties.
