Periodic Reporting for period 1 - INNCAS4Thuer (Services addressing the innovation management capacity of SMEs in Thuringia)

Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

There are two major objectives that STIFT was addressing in Thuringia with its services provided with INNCAS4Thuer project:
a) The first main objective is to ensure, that key SME beneficiaries of H2020 are helped efficiently so that their full innovation potential can be exploited: SME beneficiaries of the funding schemes SME Instrument, Fast Track to Innovation (hereinafter referred to as FTI) and Future and Emerging technologies Open (hereinafter referred to as FETOpen) under H2020 will receive dedicated Key Account Management (KAM) services by the Network which will be complemented by coaching services. The objective of these services is to identify weaknesses in the innovation capacities of the SME
beneficiaries hindering their growth opportunities and hence their full commercial potential. The Network's Key Account Managers will identify the coaching needs of the SMEs and find suitable coaches who will be tasked with the addressing of the identified weaknesses.
b) The second main objective is to contribute to an increased innovation management capacity of SME clients in the region, for which the existing offers are unaffordable or don´t meet the SME´s quality expectations.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

INNCAS4Thuer provided in 2019 key account management services to two HORIZON 2020 SME instrument beneficiaries. One Phase 1 beneficiary is running an innovation project adressing environmental issues with an AI solution and one Phase 2 beneficiary oofering an innovative ICT solution for the Health care sector. Services for enhancement of innovation management capacity recieved 5 companies from the sectors information and communication technology, sensor technology, logistics, environment (water treatment) and new materials.
