Project description
SME innovation management capacity in Estonia
Enhancing the innovation management capacities of SMEs is instrumental for the growth of the Estonian economy. To this end, the EU-funded EST-KAM19 project will address two kinds of SMEs. It will deliver key account management services aimed to identify weaknesses in the innovation capacities of the beneficiaries of the SME Instrument, Fast Track to Innovation, and Future and Emerging Technologies - Open schemes of Horizon. EST-KAM19 will moderate the coach-client relationship and accompany the beneficiary through the SME Instrument project. The second group of SMEs are those with significant innovation activities and a high potential for internationalisation. The project will deliver service for enhancing the innovation management capacity by performing a diagnostic audit and developing/implementing a tailored action plan.
Objective
The objective of the project is to enhance the innovation management capacity of Estonian SMEs. The action is aimed at
two kinds of SMEs - beneficiaries of the SME Instrument, Fast Track to Innovation, and FET-Open schemes of Horizon and SMEs with significant innovation activities and a high potential for internationalisation.
For beneficiaries of the Horizon 2020 schemes, the service package (the Key Account Management service) consists of identifying weaknesses in the innovation capacities of the beneficiary; identifying suitable coaches (based on the assessment in the first step) to address the identified weaknesses and moderating the coach-client relationship; and accompanying the beneficiary through the SME Instrument project.
The service packages outside the scope of the Horizon 2020 schemes (the “Enhancing the innovation management capacity of SME's” service) consist of carrying out a diagnostic audit of the selected SMEs; and developing and implementing a tailored action plan to improve the SME’s capacity to manage innovation processes.
