Project description
First-of-its-kind automation tool cranks up speed in software development
Effective and rapid software development is crucial for competitiveness. However, the friction between back-end and front-end development is slowing down innovation in software development. DevOps tools largely help automate the software development process, but the number of talented programmers that can use them are limited. The EU-funded SYNCANO 2.0 project is supporting a Norway-based company in developing the world-first complete NoOps platform that utilises reusable building blocks code and automation tools to boost the innovation speed for software developers, software development companies and IT consulting firms. The new solution should reduce the time to market of new software and software features by 80 % and lower development costs by 70 %.
Objective
In a rapidly changing world, being the fastest to innovate is essential to stay ahead of competition. And since SW has become essential for any industrial process, effective and rapid SW development is increasingly recognised as crucial for achieving that competitiveness.
Development and Operations (DevOps) tools are useful because they enable each individual SW developer doing more as parts of the process are automated. This means market validation can be found faster and adapted faster with fewer resources. Still, finding adequate developers for leveraging the full potential of these tools is a challenge due to a growing and fragmented offer. Besides, today´s solutions do not integrate well enough with the development of the user experience part (frontend) and doesn’t offer the flexibility and speed required in modern tech innovation processes (fast development, rollbacks, etc.).
Syncano is a SW development platform that utilizes reusable building blocks code and automation tools to boost the innovation speed for SW developers, start-ups and enterprises, reaching 80% shorter time-to-market and 70% lower development costs compared to any other existing alternative. Since its first launch in 2015, our solution has evolved to become the fastest and most flexible DevOps tool in the world. The platform is developed by a highly tech-focused team in Norway and Poland, led by Nikolai Fasting - founder of over 17 companies, with several successful exits.
Our market opportunity is promising, since the market of DevOps tools is expected to reach €8.5 billion by 2023. 25% of Global 2000 organizations are employing DevOps tools for their daily activities and our targeted users are estimated at 20 million SW Developers worldwide. In this scenario, we expect to generate around €6.63 million turnover by 2023 (13 times higher than our estimated revenues for 2018) and an astonishing 34 new job positions.
