Des satellites et un petit appareil de poche pour rester connecté en permanence
Le projet SPACELOOP, financé par l’UE, aide la PME suisse ORBITARE à mettre sur le marché le premier système commercial moderne, abordable et européen de communication personnelle par satellite. Il est conçu pour permettre aux marins, aux personnes travaillant sur le terrain et à un marché croissant d’aventuriers qui voyagent hors des sentiers battus de rester en contact avec leur famille, leurs proches et leurs collègues, et de bénéficier d’un accès sécurisé aux secours en cas d’urgence. Il permettra aux utilisateurs de disposer d’un terminal de poche à tout moment, afin qu’ils puissent brancher leur appareil et continuer à envoyer des messages écrits et audio, des photos et des fichiers de toute sorte via le réseau SPACELOOP.
Objectif
Space Loop will be the first commercial personal satellite communication system in Low Earth Orbit developed and built in Europe. At Orbitare we realized that by circumventing the need for real time voice along with its technical complexities, we can create a new satellite communication solution much more efficiently than the conventional set-ups. Designed for those who just need to stay in touch, it will deliver messaging, email and file transfer capabilities to any location in the World, at the most competitive price and ease of use. Space Loop will give access to satellite communications to people who consider that the offering of Inmarsat, iridium or Globalstar is complex and prohibitively expensive. We see a business opportunity in entering the large market of satellite communications and challenging the few but big incumbents. We understand that the risks are of parallel magnitude and have a realistic plan to overcome them.
