Deliverables
98 Report on second SENTINEL conference month 25
52 Model development to match energy demand models to user needs The deliverable itself will be a report describing modifications to each of the models in the module month 21
99 Final report on dissemination activities This will provide a synopsis and crossevaluation of the different dissemination activities including achievement of KPIs and the third SENTINEL conference month 42
Integration of system design results into economic impacts models The deliverable will be a report describing the model linkages month 28
Model development to match system design models to user needs The deliverable itself will be a report describing modifications to each of the models in the module month 21
8.1 Model protocol. This deliverable will specify the modelling protocol to follow with the SENTINEL framework, in order to examine the same mid-century results explored by other modelling packages. It will describe the key input parameters which are ‘fixed’ and ‘free’, and the form of results to be generated (month 18).
Integration of demand model results into system planning models The deliverable will be a report describing the model linkages month 28
9.5 Report on initial SENTINEL conference. This will evaluate the success of the initial community building and training activity (13)
9.2 Dissemination and communication plan. This will set out the specific plan for dissemination and communication, building on the draft plan set forth in section 2 of this proposal. The plan will identify the activities needed to fully exploit the results of the project, including an identification of the decision-making contexts where such exploitation will be likely, and hence needs to be specifically promoted. If necessary, the plan will be revised at the end of the first and second years of the project, with such revisions included in the first and second annual reports, respectively. (month 3)
7.1 Case specification and scheduling. This will be a report detailing the specific decision-making cases, reviewing relevant literature related to the decisions, and containing a plan for the model specification and stakeholder interaction throughout the three case studies (month 18).
9.4 Best practice guidelines for model transparency. This will be the primary document informing the modelling teams of the requirements for their models, supporting their final tasks of opening their models. The document will also include an identification and clarification of IPRs in the context of transparent models, and a plan for the management of those IPRs (month 12)
2.1 Observed trends and modelling paradigms. This will review the theory and modelling trends underlying the particular module (month 9).
910 Sustainability plan This will outline the governance structure the operational management structure the dissemination communication strategy and the funding sources for the SENTINEL platform and annual conference series beyond the end of the project
Observed trends and modelling paradigms. This will review the theory and modelling trends underlying the particular module (month 9).
3.1 Observed trends and modelling paradigms. This will review the theory and modelling trends underlying the particular module (month 9).
Observed trends and modelling paradigms. This will review the theory and modelling trends underlying the particular module (month 9).
User needs for an energy system modelling platform for the European energy transition. This will set out the key user needs identified through the stakeholder outreach activities early in the project, and identify the decision-making contexts where SENTINEL results are potentially to be exploited, as input for WP9 (month 14).
72 Model application in the case studies challenges and lessons learned This deliverable will consist of a detailed report on the application of the SENTINEL framework to each of the case studies It will include details on input data model linkages employed key results and any critical challenges observed in the platform implementation month 36
10.2 Detailed project management plan. This will include a schedule per task, responsible partner-related subtasks, and dependencies on other tasks, as well as a Gantt chart and work breakdown structure. (month 2). Note: there will be two revisions to this document during the course of the project: one just before the end of the first reporting period, and one just before the end of the second reporting period. The deliverable will be accordingly updated.
103 Report on collaboration with other EU and national project This will briefly describe the external collaboration month 42
25Integration of sociotechnological transition constraints into energy demand and systems models The deliverable will be a report describing the model linkages month 28
Model development to match energy demand models to user needs The deliverable itself will be a report describing modifications to each of the models in the module month 21
24Model development to match sociotechnical transition constraints models to user needs The deliverable itself will be a report describing modifications to each of the models in the module month 21
10.1 Internal project communication plan. This will set out the precise details of the media to be used in the project for internal communication (month 1)
Megatrends in the use of energy modelling results for policy- and decision-making. This will review how the use of energy models has changed over time, and connect different modelling frameworks and paradigms to particular decision-making issues (month 8).
6.1 Model and data interfaces. This deliverable will consist of a modelling framework, and be supplemented with complete documentation describing its structure, functionality, and operation (month 12).
9.6 SENTINEL online platform. This will include the functionality of being able to operate models on the platform, and include the linkage protocols (month 18).
97 Deployment of elearning materials on SENTINEL platform These will be a number of online tutorials for utilizing and expanding on the SENTINEL framework month 24
9.1 Project website. This will be the placeholder for the SENTINEL platform, containing the project logo and brief project description (month 1)
9.3 Data management plan. This is a required element of the project, and will set forth the protocols for managing data not only collected in the project, but also those data generated by the models as part of the case studies and intercomparison. It will also include the anonymysation/pseudonymisation techniques that will be followed in the project (month 6)
