Designing Devices by Doping on Demand

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - 4D (Designing Devices by Doping on Demand)

Período documentado: 2019-06-01 hasta 2020-11-30

Electronic doping of semiconductor nanomaterials will allow the design of new and improved optoelectronic devices such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and solar cells. The applicant has developed a method to use electrochemistry for controlled doping of these materials. The goal of this proof-of-concept project was to patent the technology, produce demonstrator devices and assert industrial interest in the technology. During the past 18 months, a patent application was filed, and much work has gone into producing demonstrator devices. This however took longer than planned, in part due to Covid-19 related delays. We expect that 6-12 more months of development would be needed. Industrial interest was investigated by reaching out to various companies and investors. The conclusion is that the technology is of interest, but not yet mature enough for investment.
