Shedding more light on the dynamics of quantum systems out of equilibrium

The concept of thermodynamic equilibrium is fundamental to our understanding of the interacting many-particle systems. However, enormous experimental progress has also been made lately in realising and probing strongly interacting constrained quantum systems far from thermodynamic equilibrium. The main aim of the EU-funded ConsQuanDyn project is to develop new theoretical methods to study constrained quantum systems in the non-equilibrium regime. Exploring the dynamics of constrained quantum systems is of high interest particularly in quantum computing as these systems may help us realise topological quantum bits and self-correcting quantum memories.
