ADVANCED CATALYTIC DEPOLYMERIZATION TECHNOLOGY

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - CPD (ADVANCED CATALYTIC DEPOLYMERIZATION TECHNOLOGY)

Reporting period: 2019-02-01 to 2019-05-31

Currently the world produces 2,12 billion tons/year of waste, being organic (46%), paper (17%), and plastics (10%) the major fractions. This amount is rapidly growing parallel to the increase of the world's population, causing to increased and unprecedented pollution of land, water and air. Simultaneously, there research for alternatives to fossil fuels continues. Therefore, the valorization of waste to become a new, profitable and clean renewable fuel is a societal demand of great potential.
We manufacture plants that produce standard (EN590) diesel from organic and plastic waste of any origin mixed in any proportion. For that we need to analyze our customer´s input-material mix and adapt our CPD process to it. We do this in our dieselization tests at real scale, ensuring the reliability of the investment for our customers. Consequently, we build and dispatch our modular plants.
Our CPD technology surpasses the state of the art of emerging waste-to-fuel systems in many aspects: costs, efficiency, adaptability and ecology, being the first working at low temperature (<320°), low opex (<€0,4/liter), without generation of undesired halogenated compounds at very high carbon yield ratio (>80%).
During the Feasibility study, from a technical perspective we have:
- Established the technical requirements for plant scale up.
- Analysed potential risks and contingency measure related to the scale up process of CPD plant
- Developed the required steps organized chronologically to accomplished our goal
- Drafted future steps for further scale up activities and industrialization for CPD plants
- Established the work plan (tasks timing and resources needed to accomplish our goal.
From the commercial perspective we have:
- Analyzed the current market state of the art in terms of figures, countries, barriers.
- We have reinforced our commercial strategy short and medium terms
- We have developed more specific strategy regarding our business model (revenues streams, pricing policies, selling channels)
- We have performed a deep analysis of the regulation affecting our innovation in EU and other world regions.
From the financial perspective we have:
- Pointed out to a more specific level the funding requirements based on type of costs (travel, equipment, personnel, materials and other)
- Updated our financial projections for the following 7 years (2 years of the project and 5 years of exploitation of our technology.
During phase 2 we aim to upgrade CPD-SWISS technology to reach a ready to exploit waste to diesel unit with higher capacity (currently 100l/h and goal is 250 to 500l/h).
As a result we aim to commercial a waste-to-diesel solution with superior performance respect to state of the art and therefore, more attractive from the economic perspective for the waste management and waste generation companies in order to monetize their residues.
It is therefore that we expect to build during 2022-2026 period:
- 10 units of CPD-250(l/h)
- 11 units of CPD-500(l/h)
- 2 units of CPD-1000(l/h)
- Perform 14 tests
- Perform 14 feasibility studies
As a result, we expect:
- An accumulated revenue of €120M
- An accumulated profit of €41M
- ROI (€2Minvestment) of 20.6
- Payback period of 9 months
- New jobs creation :24 people
