Specification table for light source for PIC

Based on input from all partners and their prior experience with industry contacts, a specification table of key performance metrics of the light source to be used in PICs will be generated. Sensing and communication applications will be treated separately, as they have different requirements.

Final report on integration of light sources on-chip

The most promising approaches from D5.2 are pushed further towards exploitation, considering again performance and process compatibility with a full chip design (which may contain more process steps than required for D5.1).

Report on electrically pumped plasmonic light sources: challenges, procedures and ways forward.

Report on electrically pumped plasmonic light source [48]This report will summarize the experimental results on the optoelectronic properties of plasmonic based light sources under electrical pumping.

Final report summarizing the dissemination activities performed during the lifetime of the project.

Report on optimised plasmonic struct. for light sources and ZIMs

Based on report D12 where the most suitable building blocks for optimizing light emission are identified a theoretical study on the optical response of compact arrays of those individual blocks will be performed targeting ZIM performance A report stating the optical properties of these nanoantenna arrays to achieve ZIM as well as the dependence of their optical response on morphological and materials properties will be provided This report will identify the optimal antenna array structure to be implemented considering also fabrication constrains

Specs compared to D1.2, state of commercialization & scalability

"The achieved specifications will be compared with the initial targets and the developments available elsewhere. The focus will be on techniques scalable to the AMO standard of 6"" wafers and their commercialization prospects."

Report on targeted on-chip deposition of colloid light source

This report will summarize the results of the experimental efforts to deposit colloidal light sources, developed in 2.3, 3.1 and 3.2, into the desired regions at the entrance of waveguide structures.

Report on synthesis and characterisation of colloids for ZIMs

Based on the specification table for light sources and upon input from theoretical modelling a variety of colloidal systems will be synthesized The report will include full details on the synthesis methods and characterization

Dissemination strategy and materials (branding)

This document will contain the definition of the dissemination and communication strategy and tools to be used during the lifetime of the project. Project dissemination materials will be suggested and described.

New material integration workshop

Bringing together a number of potential industrial stakeholders and scientists to review the progress and potential of the integration of new materials into the silicon photonics platforms, including the science and technologies developed in this project.
