OroraTech performed a preliminary design review, including an analysis of the technical activities needed to complete the innovation project, as well as a description of the technical engineering requirements (both from the user and the system perspective).
OroraTech´s customers were categorised into the B2G and B2B markets and the potential available market was assessed. OroraTech started conversations with several players from both public (European forest agencies, US Service Forest, etc.) and private (Munich Re, Descartes Lab, etc.) sectors to better adapt the wildfire-service to their needs. A Freedom to Operate analysis found it does not infringe existing patents or pending patent applications. Besides the ongoing patents related to the innovation, the company will apply for new patents based on the work resulting from the project.
From a financial point of view, OroraTech found on this project a profitable business that will reach its full potential upon deployment of the full 100-satellites constellation.
