Endeavour Space Hub

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SPACE END (Endeavour Space Hub)

Reporting period: 2019-11-01 to 2020-10-31

The market for space technologies is in complete transformation, new space - underpinned by decades of public investment in space infrastructure - is undergoing massive growth, providing new opportunities for new players in space. Related to this is the large amount of technologies made available through European investments which have the commercial relevance far beyond the space market.

SPACE END will expand the impact and adoption of European Space Tech by bringing together Space start-ups, SMEs, entrepreneurs and the IoT ecosystem to increase commercial relevance of the technologies across industrial sectors and accelerate their access to market and/or scaling. We will achieve this by designing and orchestrating a collaborative ecosystem with adapted tools and instruments that will position a greater number of space-enabled technologies in industrial markets. This ecosystem will be based on a blended community of IoT and Space that brings together a range of stakeholders, large and small, from academia, business and the public sector.
In the first period, the project has successful delivered a series of meetups for the space and digital communities across Spain, France and Romania. Held two rounds of design studios to explore the potential business models for space tech integration and accelerated 13 companies through IoT Tribe Space Endeavour programme achieving investment, customers and new partnerships.
The project has advanced the integration of space technologies within digital startups while supporting the market entry of downstream technologies through participation in the programme. It is expected that by the end of the project, 20 companies who have participated in the programme will have successfully integrated space technologies, including earth observation data, within their solutions while also accessing the space sector as a market for integrating new technologies including within the own supply chain and supporting the efficiency of new actors.
