Endeavour Space Hub

Periodic Reporting for period 2 - SPACE END (Endeavour Space Hub)

Période du rapport: 2020-11-01 au 2021-12-31

The market for space technologies is in complete transformation, new space - underpinned by decades of public investment in space infrastructure - is undergoing massive growth, providing new opportunities for new players in space. Related to this is the large amount of technologies made available through European investments which have the commercial relevance far beyond the space market.

SPACE END will expand the impact and adoption of European Space Tech by bringing together Space start-ups, SMEs, entrepreneurs and the IoT ecosystem to increase commercial relevance of the technologies across industrial sectors and accelerate their access to market and/or scaling. We will achieve this by designing and orchestrating a collaborative ecosystem with adapted tools and instruments that will position a greater number of space-enabled technologies in industrial markets. This ecosystem will be based on a blended community of IoT and Space that brings together a range of stakeholders, large and small, from academia, business and the public sector.
During the two years of the project, many activities have been carried out to foster the development of digital and space ecosystems in Europe and to support new technologies and their integration in new markets. By the end of the project, and after three rounds of acceleration programmes, the companies were able to raise a total of €10.15m to sign 286 new commercial contracts and hire 108 new employees.
The project has advanced the integration of space technologies within digital startups while supporting the market entry of downstream technologies through participation in the programme. It is expected that by the end of the project, 30 companies who have participated in the programme will have successfully integrated space technologies, including earth observation data, within their solutions while also accessing the space sector as a market for integrating new technologies including within the own supply chain and supporting the efficiency of new actors.
