Objective
At present, throughout the world, interior gas pipework is practically always made of metal. These materials cause no specific technical problems. However, their purchase and installation costs (fitting and assembly) are high and technologies used are not modern. On the other hand for other application (water, industrial gas) innovative systems, including new material for pipes and their associated assembly techniques, are available on the market. For domestic gas distribution several technical research were already engaged. These new techniques could reduce global cost of the installation, achieve a high level of safety, (at least comparable to conventional pipes) and allow the development of new user friendly applications. Then, the objective is to demonstrate that these innovative, techniques could be used and allowed by legislation (it is not this case today) for domestic gas distribution inside the building.
