24G: Accurate and Reliable Health Genetic Tests

Project description

A new, reliable genetic test

Millions of people around the world have spit into a tube or swabbed the inside of their cheek, and then shipped the sample to a lab for tests. At-home ancestry and all kinds of other genetic tests have become increasingly popular in recent years but most of these are for entertainment purposes. The EU-funded 24G project is developing the most complete, accurate and affordable health genetic test. The test will identify genetic predisposition for common diseases, carrier status for inherited illnesses, familial traits and any adverse reactions to common drugs. This new set of health genetic tests will cover more than 500 diseases.

Objective

The increasingly technology advances in the genetic field and consumer awareness about their health have led to a rising demand for genetic tests during last years. Genetic tests analyse gene variants of the individual genetic code, providing information about their physical characteristics but also about their health. Although currently the market is offering these genetic tests, most of them are not complete, mainly focused on wellness or entertainment and not as a holistic health point of view.
24Genetics has developed the most complete, accurate and affordable health genetic tests (24G) direct-to consumer (DTC). Our tests will allow to identify the genetic predisposition of an individual for common diseases, carrier status for inherited illness, familial traits and efficacy and adverse reactions to common drugs. This will enables customers to gain insight into their health, take preventative action and make proactive decisions.
24Genetics is an innovative fast growing Spanish company established in 2017 specialised on genetic testing for Health, Wellness and Ancestry roots. With this project 24Genetics aims to deploy new set of health genetic tests covering more than 500 diseases, strongly impact in the clinical care. The goal is to provide more targeted and personalised medicine.
Currently, we sell in more than 50 countries around the world and we set up sales offices in Spain, USA and Mexico. 24G project will help us to increase our customer base and expand our business in EU and worldwide.
