Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SENTINEL (Multi-spectral remote system for real-time alarm and monitoring of natural hazards)
Période du rapport: 2019-08-01 au 2019-11-30
This will enable private and governmental organizations to address the present problems in natural disaster monitoring, lowering the likelihood and magnitude of not only material losses, but also human losses caused by avalanches, floods, mud flows and rock falls.
The focus of Techcom SRL is to finalize the development, integration and validation in real environments of SENTINEL, achieving TRL9 and deploying commercially the first multi-spectral AI powered disaster monitoring system.
• Technical feasibility: the present technological status of the project has been assessed, as well as the following key steps necessary to move forward to TRL7, TRL8, and finally TRL9. The risks directly tied with the technological development of SENTINEL have been identified, with preventive measures put in place to avoid costly and extensive redesigns.
• Commercial feasibility: research was performed for the commercial environment surrounding an innovative natural hazard monitoring solution, including: comprehensive research of relevant market studies available, intellectual property status of SENTINEL, a PESTEL study, market barriers identification and regulatory environment analysis. Finally, the commercial risks for the project have been identified and evaluated, with their respective mitigation and contingency measures.
• Financial feasibility: we have devised a business plan. It includes growth predictions, costs, and returns on investments up to 2026, 5 years after commercial deployment, evaluated in a realistic and conservative manner thanks to the aforementioned market review.
We have included a statement in our website, recognizing the support of the EIC Instrument and the H2020 project in this Feasibility Study.
