IOT and cloud computing for online medical analysis service platform

Project description

Checking out your move can detect degenerative disease

The DeltaQon project has focused on measuring a patient’s movements in clinical tests to assess possible damage or the onset of degenerative disease. The device used relies on inertia sensors to measure amplitude, speed and acceleration in movement. The information is then relayed to the software programme, which produces analysis and graphics for the medical practitioner in real time and with high precision. A total of 61 such devices have been distributed in the market in Spain, 50 of them provided to clinics this year, and the data feedback has provided the basis of the DeltaQon medical platform.

Objective

DeltaQon is an online medical analysis service platform based on MovMe, an innovative prototype device that delivers high accuracy measurements of the movement of the human body through a portable and simple to use digital technology.
The device produces a simple and objective measurement of a patient’s movements which can help to detect degenerative diseases caused by accidents or bad movements. In the past year fifty devices have been manufactured and delivered for initial trials. They are currently deployed at several clinics throughout Spain, in total we have 61 units in the market collecting data, this data is the basis of the online medical service platform: DeltaQon.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.

SME-1 - SME instrument phase 1
