Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Tag&Go is a temperature-sensitive RFID tag with real-time monitoring and communication capabilities at the cost level of current simple passive tags. It will be used to reduce cold-chain product and resource waste.
The overall objective of the project was to check the technical, commercial, regulatory and financial feasibility of the market introduction of our Tag&Go RFID tags.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The work performed was divided into five tasks. First, we checked the technical feasibility in terms of performance and also with respect to later industrialization with the integration into the Tag&Go production line and scaling up. Second, we validated the commercial feasibility by carrying out a cold-chain logistics tracking market study and determined the specific application needs and markets where we could start after finishing the development. We also evaluated several dissemination strategies in these target markets. Third, we overlooked our Freedom to operate and regulatory standards that we have to comply with. Fourth, we realized a risk analysis and developed mitigation measures. Fifth, we analyzed various financial scenarios for the five years after market introduction.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

The technical feasibility showed a tremendous potential as the production line upscaling widens the financial potential, which this product has. Together with the market potential in the cold-chain market and our market entry via the health and bio-pharma industry this product by far outperforms the competitors in terms of price, applications and technical capabilities.
